    Computer Matching Income Verification Program (CMIV) Update  As reported at the last Housing Task Force meeting, the CMIV program has resumed. The program aims to resolve discrepancies that a match of HUD tenant income data for 1998 to IRS and SSA data for that year revealed. by Jim Schaafsma, Michigan Poverty Law Program

    Section 8 Homeownership Program Final Regulations  Recently, HUD issued its final rule for the Section 8 Homeownership Program. The homeownership program regulations are now at 24 CFR §§ 982.625-.638; the statutory authority is 42 USC § 1437f(y). The rule permits, but does not require, public housing agencies ("PHA"s) to establish homeownership programs using their §8 funding. by Jim Schaafsma, Michigan Poverty Law Program
