The MPLP Brief Bank is a collection of briefs and other legal memorandum submitted by legal services attorneys around the state, organized by MPLP and published to the internet in searchable format through the generosity of the State Appellate Defenders Office (SADO). The collection is intended for the use of low-income advocates (legal services advocates or pro bono attorneys working through a legal services pro bono program) and is password protected.
When you begin a search in the Brief Bank you will be asked for an User ID and Password. Each legal services program in Michigan has been given a unique User ID and Password. Contact your Project Director or CRP for yours or email , Technology Staff Attorney at MPLP.
Submissions: the quality of the brief bank is entirely dependent upon the quality and quantity of submissions. We need your help.
Michigan advocates: please send us your poverty law briefs!
Submissions can range from a US Supreme Court brief to a simple written argument submitted in an administrative hearing. If you have a law student do a memo that has some original legal research in it - send it in. District Court, Circuit Court and unpublished Court of Appeals opinions - send it in. Don't assume something is too obscure, let us worry about weeding out the irrelevant submissions.
Send your submissions to MPLP Technology Attorney , preferably as email attachments. Thanks!
